Ingredients
Scale
- 450 grams ground beef or turkey
- 60 grams breadcrumbs
- 40 grams finely chopped onion
- 15 grams fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 165 grams pineapple chunks, fresh or canned, plus extra for garnish
- 120 millilitres sweet chili sauce
- 30 millilitres soy sauce
- 15 millilitres sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch (optional, for thickening)
Instructions
- Set oven to 200°C and allow to fully preheat.
- In a large mixing bowl, blend ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, egg, garlic powder, ginger, salt, and pepper until fully incorporated.
- Roll the mixture into uniform balls, approximately 2.5 cm in diameter, arranging them evenly on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Transfer baking sheet to the oven and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until meatballs are browned and cooked through.
- In a medium saucepan set over medium heat, combine sweet chili sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, and pineapple chunks. To thicken, mix cornstarch with 15 millilitres water and stir into the sauce. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring regularly, until heated through and glossy.

- Arrange meatballs on a serving platter. Top with reserved pineapple chunks and scatter chopped fresh parsley for garnish.
Notes
- Feel free to use turkey if you prefer a leaner meat option.
- Adjust the level of sweet chili sauce according to your taste preference.
- Serve with steamed rice or noodles for a complete meal.
