Description

Deliciously fluffy waffles infused with cinnamon and topped with a creamy cheese drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Waffle Batter
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon Swirl
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • Cream Cheese Drizzle
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat Appliance: Preheat the waffle iron according to manufacturer’s guidance.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Incorporate Wet Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Pour this mixture into the dry ingredients and stir just until combined; avoid overmixing.
  4. Prepare Cinnamon Swirl: In a small bowl, blend melted butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a corner snipped.
  5. Pour and Swirl Batter: Lightly grease the waffle iron. Pour about 1/2 cup of batter into the center, then pipe a spiral of the cinnamon mixture onto the batter. Close and cook until golden and crisp, approximately 3–4 minutes per waffle. Repeat until all batter and swirl are used.
  6. Make Cream Cheese Drizzle: In a bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla, mixing until the glaze is pourable.
  7. Serve: Serve waffles warm, generously drizzling with the cream cheese topping.

Notes

  • Use fresh ingredients for the best flavor.
  • Leftover waffles can be frozen and reheated later.
  • Add nuts or chocolate chips to the batter for an extra twist.
