Description

A delicious and hearty dish made with chicken sausage, potatoes, and creamy cheese, all slow-cooked to perfection.


Ingredients

  • 680 grams red potatoes, diced into 1.25 cm cubes
  • 450 grams chicken breast, cut into 2.5 cm cubes
  • 400 grams kielbasa sausage, sliced into thin rounds
  • 1 small white onion, finely diced
  • 250 grams cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 120 millilitres sour cream
  • 120 millilitres heavy cream
  • 298 grams canned cream of chicken and herbs soup
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease the insert of a slow cooker. Layer diced potatoes, chicken breast cubes, sliced kielbasa, diced onions and 200 grams of shredded cheddar cheese in the slow cooker.
  2. In a mixing bowl, thoroughly whisk together cream of chicken and herbs soup, sour cream, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  3. Pour the mixed sauce evenly over the ingredients in the slow cooker. Gently stir to distribute the sauce and seasoning throughout.
  4. Sprinkle the remaining 50 grams of cheddar cheese evenly over the surface.
  5. Cover and cook on low setting for 6 to 8 hours, or on high for 5 hours until potatoes and chicken are thoroughly cooked and onions are tender.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to taste.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad for a complete meal.
