Ingredients

- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar, divided
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 ripe bananas, sliced
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Place butter in a 9×13-inch baking dish and melt in the oven. Once melted, remove from oven.
- In a large bowl, whisk together 1 cup of sugar, flour, baking powder, salt, milk, and vanilla until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter—do not stir.
- Arrange banana slices evenly over the batter.
- In a small bowl, combine the remaining ½ cup sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle evenly over the bananas.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the batter has set.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm, optionally with ice cream or whipped cream.
